The Coaching Academy includes an extensive business course covering all aspects of operating a health and fitness business helping coaches to develop long term, sustainable and profitable business models.

The Business Acumen course is designed to improve an individuals understanding of their own business, how to enhance it’s moving parts, scale it beyond its core offering and create a vehicle for improving it’s overall financial performance.

MODULE 7 PERFORMANCE NUTRITION

This module focuses on the key principles of sports nutrition and exercise performance, including the latest research papers. It assists the coach in applying critical awareness across the broad remit of sports nutrition with consideration of environmental factors and ergogenic aids.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

On completion of the course delegates will be able to:

* Obtain insurance to work as a nutrition consultant.

* Fully assess a client’s activity levels

* Provide an in-depth analysis of dietary intake using software provided as part of the course.

* Provide your client with a comprehensive nutrition and activity report relevant to weight management and/or sports performance.

* Work as a nutrition consultant with client’s to provide evidence based dietary advice (not prescriptive advice).

* Run the LEAN System as your weight management programme, including the E-learning package.

* Offer, clear, evidence based advice on the use of supplements

Applied Nutrition delegates will also receive a years FREE access to the Nutrimen professional dietary analysis software (£80 annual fee usually) as part of your membership. This is considered the gold standard of nutritional software.

CERTIFICATION

To qualify for the ACA Applied Nutrition Certification delegates must study and complete all modular content and tasks scoring 75% or more in each of the specific assessments. They must also have completed the integrated 16 week Applied Nutrition & Supplementation certification.

Upon completion of the course content delegates will be invited to sit the final assessment. This will require evidence of effective nutritional practices and evidence of ongoing application of the course content.

All content is delivered and assessed online and presented in written, audible and video format

Graduates will all receive 10 CIMPSA CPD Points

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Coaching course breaks down all of the elements required for a coach to be delivering effective, sustainable and results based programs.

The course addresses human anatomy, biomechanics, human physiology, energetics and brings it all together within the training theory and practice modules.

MODULE 1 MUSCLE PHYSIOLOGY AND ENERGETICS

This module in conjuction with module two is designed to enable you to understand the physiological responses to exercise, control of physiological responses and effects of training on different physiological systems. How the body utilises fuel in different scenarios and how we can influence this.
